Quiet, calm, serene

No more loud slaps against my ears
No more bright lights streaked across the sky
No more gusts of the gods,

Forcing me to bow down to him.
All is well just for this one moment
Will it last?

Will the mighty king of the sky come down again
To sweep me off my feet
To take me to his home where he can torture me

Where I will scream again and again
Where all of them scream
Where the dreams of millions, are crushed.

Honesty and truth are not the lord’s virtue
He comes as he pleases
And flees when he must

Leaving me huddled in the cold
With no one to hear me croak
With no one to give me warmth

But he returns, as always
To demand my attention again
To rip open another storm
