On Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012, Victoria Park Collegiate Institute held their annual Club Fair during lunch in the cafeteria. Students buzzing with excitement filled the room to the brim, perusing the numerous displays created by each of the participating clubs. This year, the event was organized by the Team of Leaders’ Executive Council instead of the Student Leadership Council. Despite the complications with Bill 115, the Club Fair still went on without any problems. VPCI is host to over 50 active charity and interest clubs, such as Free the Children and Writer’s Club.

Some clubs had extravagant, colourful displays. Others had more informative, text-based ones. All of the clubs had enthusiastic leaders who did their best to promote their club.

Students were given the chance to sign up for the clubs that interested them. However, students that missed the Club Fair or didn’t have enough time to see all the clubs needn’t fear!

For the first time in the history of VPCI clubs, the TOLwill be offering students an opportunity to sign up for clubs after the Club Fair—online! On Saturday, September 29th, 2012, the TOL released their very first VPCI Clubs Website (http://clubs.victoriaparkci.ca). Each club has their own web page, where students can click a button leading to a virtual sign-up form.

There was overwhelming student interest in all clubs in this year’s club fair. At the end of the day, both the TOL and student body walked out of the cafeteria, satisfied.
