YAOYAN HUANG

Sunset and sunrise

Until the dusk falls.

Awaken the night.

Paint the endless darkness

With coloured streams of light

And the morning rises.

Down the torrents of raging streams

Currents lapping softly,

Chains of ice and frozen edges

Unveil a world in silence.

The slow tick of nature’s clock

Patient and unassuming.

Time and time again

We fall in her warm embrace.

Down a wishing well, I fell

Peering in too far.

Then I found myself upside down,

With a journey to embark.
