A much anticipated student concert
March 18, 2014
The second annual Spring Music Night will be taking place on Tuesday April 29th in the cafeteria from 7 pm to 9 pm. It will feature over 150 talented VP musicians in the six ensembles, namely the Jazz Band, Chamber Choir, Strings Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and the Wind Ensemble. Tickets will be sold at the door on the night of the concert for $5 per seat.
It is expected that Ms. Chang will lead her students to exceed the standards set last April. Countless hours are currently being spent behind-the-scenes to perfect the performances in order to deliver an unforgettable night of celebration and recognition.
The Music Council will be coordinating and facilitating the event, managing the lighting, the ticket sales, the stage crew, and the emcees. The group of over 30 students are collaborating on a weekly basis to ensure a meticulous and enjoyable showcase of the best of the music program.
There will also be a short intermission in which refreshments will be sold.
A teaser for the concert will be screened for free on April 28 during an assembly. The most breathtaking moments, however, will be reserved for the next evening.
Janet Chen, president of the Music Council, was confident, exclaiming “The Winter Music Night [last year] was extremely successful so I hope that the spring [one] will be just as great!”
The Spring Music Night is a part of the traditional Arts Week, which always manages to impress. The library will be open during lunch and on Spring Music Night to allow students and their families to view the student artwork that will be on display.
Arts Week will also be packed with other goodies, which will be announced in due time. Stay tuned!
